As a fellow dog lover, I ask you to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. I need you and any person you know that is an animal lover to write a letter, not an e-mail, a letter because it is easy to ignore e-mails it is not easy to ignore 20.000 letters to Mr. José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission to take ferm actions against the people that are doing this in Romania, to send EU authorities to handle this an d not let these murderers torture and kill so many animals. A letter by post is inexpensive and you would be doing a world of good (from Romania for example, it is 2 eur)
Below are a couple of pictures take of dogs from the Craiova shelter, the mayor claims that the shelter is extremely modern and it is normal that some dogs be emaciated since they were strays, lies, I have yet to see such an emaciated dog on the streets, please share on Facebook also these pictures, so the world can see what they are doing:
The first dog dies after being taken from the Craiova shelter:

The problem is the BRUTAL way these dogs are caught and treated and also the people that try to defend them. Inside these so called “shelters” horrible things are happening, you are not allowed or film there or to take pictures, why is that, don’t they want more dogs to be adopted? The answer is no, they don’t care and they don’t want people to see what they are doing with public funds, inside those gates the animals are abused, they sleep in their own feces, they are starved by beasts. Corruption once again stands in the way of doing the right thing. The organization that is supposed to protect them ASPA does anything but that, their 2 mil euro/year budget was not spent on the dogs, not by a long shot, they have proven themselves incapable of handling the situation and yet they continue to be in charge of this. They hired dog catchers from three companies, they pay aprox. 50 eur/each dog caught (the minimum wage in Romania is about 160 euro to compare) NGO’s have revolted at this amount, but of course they did not care, at 60.000 stray dogs in Bucharest, they will pay approximately 3.000.000 Eur just for catching these dogs not to mention the other expenses. Not to mention the fact that they are paying per each dog leads to abuse, there have already been reports that they have taken dogs while with their owner for a walk . We demand them to build shelters for them, I know a lot of people that are willing to pay each month for a dog to have a decent life in a decent shelter, but the NGO’s shelters are already full, people are sustaining adoptions, Germany and Austria for example has sent a lot of help and food in the country for these dogs and we are promoting adoption wherever possible, but the authorities are not doing anything just killing them, do not think for a second that they will euthanize any dog, they will steal the money, at the Mihailesti (responsible for the Bucharest area)shelter evidence has shown that dogs were killed with shovels and electrocuted. People leave these shelters crying, if they go to adopt they are treated in the worst possible way. Not to mention that stray dogs are abused every day and they do not take any actions. Please take a stand, if we yell loud enough, they will listen!!! Please take your time and deliver this message to each person you know that is willing to defend these animals, you can just reply “ok” to me if you will write to him!
Mr. José Manuel Barroso,
President of the European Commission
Rue de la Loi 200

Thank you in advance!
