I'm signing because gender studies is an important area of social science and history and also because individual universities should be free to determine what courses they want to run.

I support freedom of thinking, teaching and studying. Gender studies are key in democratic and non democratic societies and should be studied and discussed in European Higher Education system.

Taken into account the huge inequalities in the world in terms of gender, I find it of utmost importance to give students the opportunity to learn more about these issues and how to tackle them in all spheres of life.

We need gender studies to enhance our understanding of societal process and overall well-being of people. Don't ban the Gender Studies master!

Genderstudies are important in this androcentric, sexist world. We need them to recognize power imbalances between the privileged and the oppressed. Cancelling them means being affraid of having to take into account critical minds in your population!

Gender Studies have for decades been an i portant subject in international research and study Programmes for decades. They are important for promoting equal access to labor market and participation in society. Almost forty years ago I participated in research on female access to male professions at the Danish university Roskilde University Centre, funded by Danish Women’s National Council. Our research team was successful also because of the support of gender studies at Roskilde University. I recommend, based on a long professional experience to continue gender studies in Hungary for the benefit of equal rights.
